Well Christmas has come and gone....deep breath.... and we are able to update the blog.
The photos are taken in the week leading up to Christmas, as the house finally starts to take shape. We had the first storey go up first, then a big crane lifted the upstairs walls and windows up. As you can see there is no stairs to the top storey just yet.

We are now able to stand in rooms.....downstairs at least and get a much better feel of the size. It has really just confirmed that our sizing in planning was about right, the rooms feel big enough without being cavernous.
The levels for the front in comparison to the road, and the rear floor in reference to the back yard appear to work well.
The design should allow the sea breeze to channel through the whole house from front to back meaning there won't be any need to air-condition hopefully!
The top deck has gone on, the windows have been placed in the walls.....no access other than crane to upstairs yet, so no detail photos.
Andy has been practising his "Blue Steel" Zoolander style.....it is coming along nicely.
We are a little worried about the lower storey being a bit dark, but not much we can do with that given the orientation. It will be great for summer and will still get the afternoon sun in winter, as well as the upper family room getting plenty of northern light.
The plans are a foot for the computer and TV network as well as the music system throughout the house.....all necessary to satisfy my (John) geek tendencies!
Murphy has given his new lazing spot a test run. This is he and Nathan standing out on what will be the alfresco area.
